Although I ultimately enjoy working out in a gym, I appreciate a few outdoor sessions from time to time.
Outdoor Workout Pleasures:
- Unlimited Space
If it’s one thing I dislike about working out in a gym, it’s waiting for a machine or tools. If you’re like me and everything you do follows a schedule, then you’ll understand this frustration. A planned 45 minutes session can easily turn into an hour and a half due to waiting on a machine or rotating out with other gym members.
Training outdoors ensures that there will be no wait time as you are free to roam every nook and cranny of your environment. You’ll have unlimited space to achieve your workout goal for the day in due time.

- Creativity With Workouts
This is my favorite part. There are so many things that can be used to mimic gym tools and machines in the park to ensure that you are getting in your most effective workout and your body wouldn’t even be able to tell, ha.
Using benches for bicep dips and various ab workouts, using the monkey bars for pull ups and using the track and field for cardio. Sign me up!!
- Fresh Air
If your gym is small, you may feel congested after an intense cardio session. Training outdoors allows for the entry of new, fresher air into your lungs for an efficient workout.
- Views
Valleys, parks, canyons, mountains, and all the other beautiful scenery mother nature has provided us allows for an inspired workout session. Sometimes we may get so used to the gym scene that we aren’t as enthused during our workouts but with a change of scenery that’s accompanied with flowers and various architectural designs, our minds are tricked into novelty and are workouts are seemingly brand new.

- Cuts Cost
Last but surely not least, you don’t have to pay a dime to workout outdoors, just bring your body, your mind and you’re all set!!
